fLIP fLOP made their stage debut in 2006 after four friends decided they wanted to sing together. The problem was, there were too many baritones and no tenor. So, after much flip flopping, this foursome became a foursome when the lead became the tenor and one of the baritones became a lead..and voila! Tenor Laura Bolhuis sings Lead in the chorus and joined the organization in 2004. Since that time she has been an outstanding presence as a front row dancer, wowing the Region by doing splits on contest stage. Lead Sandy Cheeseman sings Baritone in the chorus and has been a part of the Grand Rapids chapter since 2001. She brings terrific musical knowledge to the group and is a stellar front row representative. Baritone Denise "Diz" Frederick sings Baritone in the chorus and she joined Grand Rapids in 2003. Since joining, Diz has become very active within the chorus. She helped to facilitate the fabulous New Member Committee, and as chairperson of staging and props, has been an integral voice behind the scenes of the annual shows by continuously providing our audiences with glamorous and eye catching props and stage decoration. Bass Debbie Pfennig also sings Bass in the chorus and joined Sweet Adelines in 2004. Debbie jumped into chorus with both feet and since then has worn many hats including Chorus Vice President, Grants and Foundations chairperson, Arts Council Liaison, Music Team member and now quartet member.
